Abby’s Bakery is a small home-based bakery located in Pacific, Missouri. My name is Abby (shocker, I know) and I founded my small business in October of 2025. I have always had a true passion for cooking and baking since I was a kid, and even more since becoming an adult and getting to buy my own food! Giving people food is the truest form of Midwest love, and I am passionate about sharing the love with this incredible community.
The biggest catalyst for starting this bakery isn’t one of the happiest stories I have to tell. In June of 2025, I was let go from my corporate job in marketing. When I lost my job, I was also in the midst of a lot of other loss. In a time when I most needed comfort, I turned to baking. After spending so many years staring at a computer screen and tearing my hair out with stress, doing something with my hands was beyond therapeutic.
However, the problem with baking every day, is that you have a lot of sweets that need to find a home. There’s only so much sugar you can eat on your own before it’s a problem! So I started giving away the sweets I made.
Every time I gave something away, people would tell me the same thing over and over: “You should sell these!” I’m not very good at taking compliments, so I brushed the suggestions off as polite remarks.
But before I knew it, I had orders pouring in. Birthdays, high school sports celebrations, parties, holiday gatherings… I got to be a part of making so many days just a little more special. The honor of providing the cake for an anniversary, or a batch of cupcakes for a new expecting mother, is an indescribable feeling.
So I made it official! I started Abby’s Bakery with nothing but my passion for baking and the support of my long-suffering, endlessly patient, dearly beloved husband Andrew. I pour every ounce of passion I’ve got into everything I bake, and I’m excited to help you make your special occasions just a little bit sweeter ❤︎
